While the risk to San Diego County’s general population remains low for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), each day brings new information as well as recommendations pertaining to large group events. We are now faced with a much different environment than just a week or two ago with major events, concerts, March Madness, and even political debates being audience free, virtual or canceled. With this in mind, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our Above & Beyond dinner scheduled for Friday, March 20. We are looking at ways to expand a virtual experience to make up for the lack of an in-person event.
This decision was made with thoughtful consideration of public health professionals’ advice to limit social interactions and avoid crowded indoor events. We believe that this decision is consistent with our mission of supporting the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department and its ability to protect the residents of San Diego and the surrounding region. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for understanding.
We have an inspiring group of honorees and cannot wait to share their stories with you. Please stay tuned for details about the Above & Beyond virtual experience!
Rest assured that the amazing resolve and dedication of our first responders will be recognized and celebrated. Thank you for your support and we look forward to virtually introducing you to this year’s finest.
