Today, I am hopeful.

As we near the end of 2020, I want to tell you how much I appreciate your support these past few months. Many of you have reached out with encouraging words and thoughtful donations. I am incredibly grateful for your kind support of our fire-rescue personnel.

From a face mask and hot meals to protective chaps and rescue tools, your donations have played an important role in helping keep our fire-rescue personnel healthy, safe, and ready to respond. I cannot thank you enough. Click here to download a copy of our latest impact report to see how your donations have been put into action.

From their first day on the job, firefighters and lifeguards know what they must do: confront an emergency and resolve it. Now, on top of the emergency calls of everyday life, San Diego Fire-Rescue Department personnel are addressing a pandemic and wildfire season. Yet, they have continued to keep our community safe through all of it.

I am as concerned as everyone else about the pandemic and the long-term impact of wildfires in our beautiful state. But, today I am hopeful because I see the goodness that exists in our community through your constant generous support.

On behalf of the Fire Rescue Foundation, thank you for being a hero to our fire-rescue personnel.

In gratitude,

Rachel Laing
Board Chair/President
