91X WREX THE HALLS CONCERT RAISES OVER $15K FOR SAN DIEGO FIRE RESCUE FOUNDATION

SAN DIEGO, CA – 91X and Goldenvoice today announced a donation of $15,540.10 to the San Diego Fire Rescue Foundation, made possible by ticket sales and donations at the 91X Wrex the Halls concert in December 2017.

Wrex the Halls went on as scheduled at Valley View Casino Center, as the Lilac Fire was burning in North County. To aid in the efforts, and 91X and Goldenvoice each committed $1.00 per ticket sold to the concert, and asked concert-goers to contribute as well.

Representatives from 91X and Goldenvoice presented a check to Fire Chief Brian Fennessy and Foundation Co-Chair Kevin Leap last Friday during a “Coffee with the Chief” event at Station 45 in Mission Valley.

“We’re so grateful for this generous gift from 91X, Goldenvoice and their listeners who came together and supported our first responders,” said Wendy Robinson, executive director, San Diego Fire Rescue Foundation. “This donation will help us support the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department with enhanced equipment, training and technology so our first responders can better protect the citizens and propertyof San Diego and the surrounding region.”

“It’s hard to focus on concerts and entertainment when our own San Diegans are in peril,” said Gregg Wolfson, General Manager / VP of 91X and Local Media San Diego LLC. “91X is all about serving our local community. The decision to partner up with Goldenvoice and the fans to support our own was an easy one. We are proud to support the San Diego Fire Rescue Foundation knowing that it will have a positive impact for San Diego.”

John Wojas, Vice President at Goldenvoice/AEG Presents San Diego, added, “Concerts are all about a fun, memorable experience, and it’s a great feeling knowing we are also helping make our city safer for everyone.”

91X is owned and operated by Local Media San Diego, LLC, a privately held San Diego-based company. LMSD also operates Z90.3 (XHTZ-FM) and Magic 92.5 (XHRM-FM).
